Moldovan leadership, messages of condolences to Spain: "We mourn the loss of lives"

We would like to remind you that 39 people lost their lives, and over 170 were injured in a train accident that happened on the evening of Sunday, January 18, in southern Spain. Among the injured, 24 individuals are in serious condition.
The tragedy occurred in Adamuz, a town in the province of Córdoba, where two high-speed trains collided after one of them derailed. Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the derailment.
As a result, the railway infrastructure manager and the company Renfe announced the suspension of high-speed rail services between Madrid and several cities in southern Spain. The resumption of service may take several days or even weeks, depending on the investigation's findings and the necessary repairs.
Authorities have established special telephone lines and psychological support teams for the families of the victims.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau has stated that there is no official information on the presence of Moldovan citizens among the deceased or injured.
The situation is being closely monitored by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Spain.
