Moldova’s Parliament signals European solidarity as Baltic leaders arrive for solemn session

The speakers of the Baltic parliaments from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia will conduct an official visit to Chisinau next week. The announcement was made by the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu, ahead of the new legislative term.
The high-level delegation includes Saulius Skvernelis (Lithuania), Daiga Mieriņa (Latvia), and Lauri Hussar (Estonia). Their visit is scheduled for February 3, coinciding with a solemn meeting of the Moldovan legislature to mark the beginning of the year.
Strategic regional support
Speaker Igor Grosu confirmed that the Parliament will reconvene on February 2 following the winter recess. The arrival of the Baltic counterparts on Tuesday serves as a significant gesture of regional cooperation and support for Moldova’s institutional reforms.
The Moldovan Parliament operates in two ordinary sessions per year. The Spring Session begins in February and concludes by the end of July, while the Autumn Session runs from September through December.
