Baltic Speakers to address Moldovan Legislature during high-level strategic visit

The Speakers of the Parliaments of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania will pay an official visit to Chisinau from February 2 to 4. Invited by the President of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu, the Baltic leaders will attend the solemn inauguration of the spring legislative session.

On February 2, Igor Grosu will welcome Lauri Hussar (President of the Estonian Riigikogu), Daiga Mieriņa (Speaker of the Latvian Saeima), and Juozas Olekas (representing the Lithuanian Seimas). The leaders will hold a joint press conference at 17:15 to outline the goals of this regional cooperation.

High-level diplomatic agenda

The visit centers on a solemn parliamentary session on February 3 at 10:30. The three Baltic Speakers will deliver keynote addresses to the Plenum, followed by strategic consultations with Moldovan parliamentary factions.

The delegation's schedule includes high-profile meetings with President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu. Discussions will also involve Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, and Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri.

Field visit to EU-funded projects

Beyond official buildings in the capital, the delegation will travel to the Călărași district. This segment focuses on grassroots diplomacy, involving meetings with local authorities, entrepreneurs, and citizens.

The officials will specifically tour the Călărași Business Incubator. This facility stands as a tangible example of European Union support for local economic resilience and modernization in Moldova.
