Swiss skier Franjo von Allmen secured a decisive victory in the World Cup downhill race at Crans-Montana on home soil. At 24 years old, the athlete demonstrates peak performance just days before the start of the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics.

Von Allmen completed the course in 1:55.00, edging out Italy’s Dominik Paris by a mere 0.65 seconds. American skier Ryan Cochran-Siegle followed closely in third place, finishing only 0.7 seconds behind the leader.

Dominance in the standings

The World Cup overall rankings continue to be dominated by Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt, who holds a commanding lead with 1,385 points. Brazil’s Lucas Pinheiro Braathen maintains second place with 798 points.

The road to Milano-Cortina

The world's elite skiers are now transitioning to Italy for the Winter Olympic Games, scheduled from February 6 to 22. This major event will be broadcast live for regional audiences on Moldova 1 and Moldova 2.
