Romanian adviser: Kremlin is waging an informational war in the Republic of Moldova, with the participation of top officials from the Russian Federation

The recent statements of the authorities in Moscow represent an information war, as in the case of a possible attack by Ukraine on the Transnistrian region. The statement was made by the state adviser for foreign policy, security and strategic affairs of the Prime Minister of Romania, Iulian Chifu, in an interview for Radio Moldova.

"The information war is going on with the participation of top officials of the Russian Federation, including the president. They are planned and come to support, by the way, the famous disinformation started that Ukraine is preparing a certain type of attack. At the moment, all these moments are worrying and no responsible administration can ignore them", said Iulian Chifu.

We remind you that the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed in a statement, broadcast on February 23, that Ukraine has intensified preparations for the invasion of the Transnistrian region. On Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned the United States, NATO countries and Ukrainian authorities against further adventurous steps, especially regarding the Transnistrian region. Meanwhile, the authorities of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova rejected the statements of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regarding the alleged challenges that Ukraine would prepare on the border with the Republic of Moldova, on the Transnistrian segment. Chisinau gave assurances that the situation at the border is unchanged and urged people to remain calm.
