“Green House” cuts beneficiaries’ bills; CNED will launch a new call for applications

The first beneficiary families in the government program "Green House" have completed energy-efficiency improvements to their homes. Thanks to these investments, households have significantly reduced their energy consumption from the grid and lowered their monthly bills.
The National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED) is preparing to launch a new call for applications through the Moldovan Residential Energy Efficiency Fund.
The Florea family from Suruceni village, Ialoveni district, is among the first beneficiaries of the “Green House” Program and has already implemented a complex set of energy-efficiency measures. They opted to install photovoltaic panels and benefited from financing. The investments have significantly reduced their electricity bills, Ion Florea said.
“We have installed solar panels, a 10 kW inverter and a 21 kW storage system, plus an electric car charger. The program saved us half of the investment price. We were pleasantly surprised by the process, how simple and transparent everything is,” Ion Florea told Radio Moldova.
"Green House", a financing instrument developed through the governmental program Fund for Energy Efficiency in the Residential Sector of Moldova (FEERM) and launched in July 2025, aims to improve home comfort, reduce energy consumption and reduce monthly expenses, says the director of the National Center for Sustainable Energy, Ion Munteanu.
He stated that this initiative contributes to the Republic of Moldova's transition towards responsible and sustainable consumption.
"Green House" registers new beneficiaries who have reached the final stage of completing the works. Within the framework of the government program, beneficiaries manage to implement various measures to improve energy consumption efficiency and the evolution of renewable energy, such as thermal visualization of the building envelope, changing windows, installing energy-efficient heating systems, electric car charging stations, storage batteries, all necessary to reduce energy bills. We invite you to follow the CNED communication platforms to be informed about the launch of a new call", stated Ion Munteanu.
The "Green House" program, launched last year, provided beneficiaries with grants of up to 50% of the value of eligible works, with a maximum ceiling of 200,000 lei.
In the first edition of this financing program, the authorities received 745 requests, of which 498 were accepted for financing.
The allocated budget is 149 million lei.
