Students in Chisinau will resume in-person lessons on Thursday, February 19. The mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, confirmed that this decision is based on an analysis of the current situation.
"The decisions we make in our actions depend on our analysis of the situation, weather forecasts, recommendations from central authorities, and consultations in various fields," the mayor of Chisinau stated.
Students in Chisinau learned online on Wednesday, February 18, due to unfavorable weather conditions. This decision was made following recommendations from central authorities.
Heavy snowfall, blizzards, and ice are expected across the Republic of Moldova, particularly in the south, where an Orange Code for severe weather is in effect. The central region is under a Yellow Code, while the risk is lower in the north.
Meteorologists predicted significant precipitation, increasing winds, and challenging traffic conditions for Wednesday, with the potential for snowdrifts and ice.
