Choose teaching! Over 1,360 vacancies in schools nationwide

There are currently more than 1,360 teaching positions vacant in educational institutions across the Republic of Moldova. The Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) is encouraging graduates from pedagogical colleges and faculties, as well as final-year students, to pursue careers as teachers in general education institutions throughout the country.

According to data from the Ministry of Education, there are currently 1,156 vacant teaching positions in institutions that teach Romanian and an additional 209 in institutions that teach Russian. Of these vacancies, 624 are in urban areas and 741 are in rural areas.

To help graduates from colleges and universities, as well as anyone interested in pursuing a teaching career, familiarize themselves with the staff, educational environment, and working conditions, they are invited to visit general education institutions with open positions on designated days listed in the table of vacancies.

Additionally, anyone interested in visiting these institutions is encouraged to complete the provided registration form.

In June, the Ministry of Education will launch a competition for the distribution of graduates into the labor market for vacant teaching positions. Young individuals aged 35 or younger who are at the beginning of their teaching careers can submit their applications.

The Ministry offers several incentives, including a one-time employment allowance of 200,000 lei for graduates with a bachelor's or master's degree in education or related fields with pedagogical modules. Graduates from pedagogical colleges and recognized institutions abroad are eligible for 160,000 lei.

The payment is distributed in two instalments: 50% after six months of effective work and the remaining balance after 18 months.

Other benefits include a 25% reduction in teaching workload for the first five years of service, an annual compensation of 4,000 lei for purchasing teaching materials and equipment, and additional support for those working in rural areas or district centers. Specifically, employees in these areas will receive 1,000 lei per month for rent and 3,000 lei annually to help with electricity and heating bills.
