A mission of the International Monetary Fund comes to Chisinau
Between March 1 and 14, a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Ruben Atyan will have discussions in Chisinau with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova in the context of the third evaluation of the ECF-EFF program, supported by the extended credit mechanism ( ECF) and the extended financing mechanism (EFF).

The IMF experts will discuss recent macroeconomic developments, will evaluate the perspectives and risks for the economy and will be informed about the progress achieved in the implementation of the actions agreed within the program supported by the IMF. It should be noted that the program of the Moldovan authorities, supported by the IMF, has a duration of 40 months and was approved on December 21, 2021. In May 2022 the total credit volume was increased to about $ 826 million. Financing based on ECF provides for an annual interest rate of zero percent, a period of five and a half years and a ten -year reimbursement term, and financing based on EFF provides for an annual interest rate equal to the basic rate of Interest for DST, a reimbursement term of ten years and a period of four and a half years.
