Fatal gas blast hits Shchuchinsk cafe near residential complex

Six people have died and approximately 20 others were injured following a gas explosion at a cafe in Kazakhstan. The regional emergency situations department reported the incident on February 26, according to official statements.

The incident occurred in the city of Shchuchinsk, Burabay District. The blast took place in a single-story cafe located directly adjacent to a five-story residential apartment building, triggering a subsequent fire.

Emergency services confirmed the explosion was caused by a gas-air mixture. Preliminary data indicates that while six individuals lost their lives, the 20 injured are receiving medical attention as authorities continue to clear the site.
