Gazprom could stop natural gas deliveries to the Republic of Moldova, expert

From the first of January, the Russian concern Gazprom could stop the supply of natural gas to the Republic of Moldova, said the energy expert, Victor Parlicov, in the program "La 360 de grade" on Radio Moldova. Under these conditions, our country will once again purchase electricity from the European market.

"I say that from January 1st, Gazprom will stop the delivery of gas to the Republic of Moldova, definitively. We will purchase from the wholesale market again. Anyway the electricity will come according to the laws of physics. The question will be to whom and at what price it will be paid. The electricity will be paid to those from where the electricity will come. In the end, these will be the suppliers from Romania and in emergency mode", believes the expert. Victor Parlicov also said that currently there is no certainty that Tiraspol will pay for the consumption of natural gas, ceded by the Republic of Moldova in exchange for electricity. According to him, due to the non-payment of the bills, debts of the left bank will accumulate again. Currently, the debt of the Transnistrian region is around 9 billion dollars.
