The decision of the authorities to purchase electricity from the Cuciurgan Power Plant in exchange for natural gas is justified, under the current conditions, claims the head of MoldovaGaz, Vadim Ceban.
He stated in an interview on Radio Moldova that under the contract, the Tiraspoltransgaz company will be responsible for paying the consumption of natural gas, but in Vadim Ceban's opinion, there is currently no such guarantee. "There is not enough gas either on the right bank or on the left bank, under the contract signed with Gazprom. Bills must be paid, not paying them is another question. The right bank, we will not pay for this quantity, they receive one cubic meter of gas or 5.7 million cubic meters per day, the payment is exactly the same price that we procure from Gazprom", stated Vadim Ceban. According to him, currently, for the month of December, the amount of 788 dollars is paid for one thousand cubic meters of gas.
