Limited flights resume from Dubai airports. MFA: “Go to the airport only after your airline contacts you”

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced a limited resumption of air operations at Dubai airports. According to Dubai Airports, starting on the evening of March 2, a select number of flights will operate from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum (DWC).
The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the operation of exceptional flights for passengers affected by recent developments in the region. These flights will operate according to the schedules communicated directly by the airlines.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Chisinau advises passengers to avoid traveling to the airport unless they have been directly contacted by the airline. Passengers should only go to the airport with clear confirmation of the departure time and are encouraged to follow official instructions to prevent congestion and ensure smooth operations.
Furthermore, passengers are urged to maintain direct communication with air operators for updates on flight schedules.
According to MFA data, over 100 Moldovan citizens in the Middle East have reached out to diplomatic missions for consular assistance or information amid the escalating conflict in the region.
Most requests for consular assistance have come from the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel, where eight citizens sought support. Additionally, five requests were registered at the Embassy in Qatar—four from Qatar and one from Kuwait.
In the United Arab Emirates, two Moldovan citizens requested consular assistance regarding accommodation, and their situations were resolved. Meanwhile, the embassy in Abu Dhabi, which is also accredited for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, received 96 phone calls that did not require consular intervention. These calls primarily sought information on security measures, airspace conditions, and other operational clarifications.
The ongoing tensions in the Middle East have severely disrupted air traffic, leaving several Moldovans stranded in Israel, the UAE, and other countries in the region where airspace has been closed. Currently, the only way to leave Israel is by bus to Egypt, from where flights to other destinations may be available.
Representatives from "Eugen Doga" International Airport in Chisinau have announced that several flights to Dubai and Tel Aviv have been cancelled. Passengers are advised to regularly check the status of their flights.
In the UAE, authorities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have instructed hotels to extend the stays of tourists who are unable to leave. In Abu Dhabi, the costs of accommodation for stranded guests will be covered by the authorities.
