Over €10 million collected in early health insurance premiums as March 31 deadline looms

Moldova’s National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) reports that over 81,000 citizens have already paid their mandatory health insurance premiums in the first two months of 2026. This represents an increase of 2,400 individuals compared to the same period last year.
Most contributors took advantage of significant early-payment discounts. Approximately 80,800 people paid a reduced rate of €129 (approx. 2,527 MDL), while 700 others paid the full standard fee of €645 (12,636 MDL).
Total collections for January and February have reached approximately 212 million MDL (over €10.8 million). These funds are critical for maintaining the national healthcare infrastructure and emergency services.
Discounted rates apply to specific categories, including landowners, small business entrepreneurs (patent holders), and self-employed individuals. Foreign residents with stay permits and non-employed citizens not covered by the government are also eligible.
The statutory deadline for discounted payments is March 31. After this date, individuals must pay the full €645 premium plus daily late fees to maintain their insured status and avoid financial penalties.
