An Irish airline is ready to launch routes from the Republic of Moldova
The Ryanair company from Ireland is ready to launch routes from the Republic of Moldova, under the conditions that airport taxes will be reduced. This was announced by the company's management, during the meeting with a parliamentary delegation from Chisinau, led by Igor Grosu.
In a post on Telegram, deputy Radu Marian, who participated in the meeting, mentioned that the biggest impediment to Ryanair coming to our country is the excessive fees at Chisinau International Airport (AIC). According to the deputy, things will change, after the airport de facto passes under the management of the state, which is planned to be completed in a few weeks. "We told them that the development fee of 9 euros is to be removed, and at the same time, AIC will offer discounts of up to 70% on the rest of the airport taxes for airlines that will open new routes and carry a large number of passengers", said Radu Marian.
The deputy said that he invited the company directors to come to Chisinau to advance the discussions. "The state will provide all the conditions for Ryanair and other low-cost airlines to come to the Republic of Moldova and offer affordable prices for plane tickets," said Radu Marian. We remind you that recently the Wizz Air company announced that from March 14th it will suspend all flights to/from Chisinau International Airport. The company cited reasons of safety and security of the airspace in the region. Previously, the Air Moldova company announced that it is canceling 20 flights to Italy, Georgia, Poland, England, Turkey, Germany and Ireland starting February 28.
