Maia Sandu, in Vilnius to mark 36 years since Lithuania's separation from the Soviet Union

Maia Sandu, the President of the Republic of Moldova, will deliver a speech on March 11 during a plenary session of the Parliament in Vilnius. This session is a solemn event commemorating the 36th anniversary of Lithuania's restoration of independence from the Soviet Union.

The Head of State is scheduled to make an official visit to the Republic of Lithuania on March 10 and 11, at the invitation of President Gitanas Nausėda.

During her visit, Maia Sandu will deliver a speech to the Lithuanian parliament and hold meetings with her Lithuanian counterpart, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė, and the Speaker of the Parliament, Juozas Olekas.

According to the Presidency in Chișinău, “The discussions will focus on the European path of the Republic of Moldova, strengthening security and resilience in the region, continued support for Ukraine, and enhancing bilateral cooperation, including investment opportunities for Lithuanian companies in our country.”
