Mihaela Samoil wins bronze for Moldova at European Youth Wrestling Championships (U23)

At the competition in the Serbian city of Zrenjanin, our compatriot competed in the weight category of up to 55 kilograms. Samoil reached the semifinals but was defeated by Azerbaijani competitor Gultakin Shirinova.
In the fight for the bronze medal, the Moldovan wrestler defeated the Bulgarian representative, Nesrin Siuleimanova, with a score of 10-0. Mihaela Samoil has now climbed the podium at the European Youth Championships in her age category for three consecutive years. In 2024, she won the bronze medal, while last year she secured the silver medal.
Earlier in the competition held in Serbia, two other representatives from the Republic of Moldova also achieved podium finishes. Alexandru Borș won the bronze medal, and Alexandr Gaidarlî became the European champion. Both wrestlers compete in freestyle wrestling.
