Igor Grosu: Even if the bills will be compensated, the citizens will hardly be able to cope with the payments
Even if we come with that package of five billion lei to compensate the bills for electricity, natural gas and heat, anyway the citizens will hardly be able to cope with the bills, said the president of the parliament Igor Grosu during a show on ProTV.
According to the official, the decision to conclude the agreement with the Cuciurgan Power Plant is one in favour of the citizens, because they will pay a lower tariff for energy.
"It is a contract that is from our realities, we had to choose between people's security and providing people with electricity as cheap as possible in the situation we are in and the whole of Europe is in. The government has the task of doing everything possible, so that, especially during this period, and we are only at the beginning of winter, and energy prices are as low as possible, because it "hits the pocket hard", even if we come with that package of five billion lei for compensation", declared Igor Grosu.
TRM.MD recalls that Energocom signed a contract with the Cuciurgan Power Plant regarding the delivery of electricity for the Republic of Moldova in a volume of over 50 percent for the month of December at a price of 73 US dollars. This is in exchange for the entire volume of natural gas of about 5.7 million cubic meters per day currently delivered to the Republic of Moldova by Gazprom. This amount ceded by MoldovaGaz will be paid for by the inhabitants of the left bank of the Dniester, and the right bank is not responsible for paying for this consumption. MoldovaGaz will pay in full for the gas consumed in November and for the more than 10 million cubic meters of natural gas consumed in the first three days of December.
