Moldova and Ukraine convene regional leaders for strategic security summit in Chisinau

The Republic of Moldova is hosting the third edition of the Black Sea Security Conference today, an elite gathering held under the auspices of the International Crimea Platform.

Following previous summits in Bucharest (2023) and Sofia (2024), the event at the Republic Palace brings together high-ranking officials from Moldova, Ukraine, and partner nations. International organizations, academic experts, and private sector stakeholders are also in attendance.

Strategic regional alignment

Co-organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of both Moldova and Ukraine, the summit is conducted with the direct support of the European Union.

The primary objective is to analyze recent security shifts in the Black Sea basin and evaluate the ongoing impact of Russian military aggression. Delegates aim to draft actionable recommendations to enhance regional resilience and collective defense.

Security and logistics

To ensure the safety of visiting delegations, Chisinau authorities have implemented heightened security measures within the capital’s central administrative district.

Access to the perimeter surrounding the Republic Palace, including sections of București, Maria Cebotari, and Nicolae Iorga streets, remains restricted between 07:00 and 18:00. All non-essential infrastructure works in the area have been suspended.

The General Police Inspectorate is managing public order and traffic flow. Citizens and motorists are advised to follow the directions of traffic officers to ensure a seamless execution of this high-level diplomatic mission.
