Critical energy link offline following Southern Ukraine strikes

The Isaccea-Vulcanesti high-voltage power line has been disconnected following recent attacks on energy infrastructure in Southern Ukraine, Moldova’s Ministry of Energy announced on Tuesday.
The ministry confirmed that technical teams from three separate transmission system operators are currently coordinating necessary inspections at the operational level. These checks are essential to ensure the safety and integrity of the regional grid.
Officials stated that further updates will be provided once the technical evaluations are complete. The inspection process is expected to take several hours.
The Isaccea-Vulcanesti line is a vital energy artery connecting the Romanian and Moldovan power grids, often serving as a primary route for electricity imports to Chisinau.
