Chișinău calls on Joint Control Commission to assess Russian drone airspace violations

Chisinau requested that the Joint Control Commission conduct an objective assessment of the recent dangerous incidents that occurred in the perimeter of the Security Zone, where unauthorized Shahed attack drones were flown.
Recent incidents clearly destabilized and heightened tensions in the area of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, posing significant risks to people's lives and infrastructure, according to a statement from the Republic of Moldova's delegation to the Joint Control Commission.
On March 30 and 31, two Russian drones flew unauthorized over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova. The first drone crossed the state border from the direction of Comarivka in the Odessa region, heading toward the village of Shipka. It flew over several localities, including Dubasari and Orhei, and was detected by the National Army's radar at a high altitude of 1,700 meters.
The second drone approached the border from Podolsk in the Odessa region, moving toward the village of Cobasna, where the largest Russian ammunition and weapons depot is located.
The Moldovan government in Chișinău firmly condemned the unauthorized overflight, reiterating that it constitutes a serious and unacceptable violation of the Republic of Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity, endangering the security of its citizens and regional stability.
