Modern gynecology offices opened in 11 institutions nationwide

Women in areas with limited access to medical services will benefit from modern healthcare facilities following the inauguration of 22 updated gynecological surgery units across 11 primary healthcare institutions in the country.
The Ministry of Health has prioritized several institutions to serve vulnerable communities and hard-to-reach areas. This includes localities near the border with Ukraine, areas around the Transnistrian region, and medical centers that cater to a large number of refugees.
This initiative aims to enhance access to specialized medical services for women in these regions. It is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health and the UN Population Fund in Moldova, with financial backing from the Government of the Hellenic Republic. The official launch of this initiative occurred on April 2 at the family doctor center in Mihailovca, located in the Cimislia district.
Emil Ceban, the Minister of Health, emphasized at the event, "The functioning of primary medicine is a key indicator of a health system's ability to respond effectively to the needs of the population. For the Ministry of Health, this area is a priority, as it represents the first point of contact for patients and serves as the foundation for the entire care pathway."
The Minister also noted that access to well-organized local services enables early interventions and helps alleviate pressure on the specialized medical system.

The modernized offices are now equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment that meets current requirements.
This includes electric gynecological chairs, some of which are adapted for women with mobility disabilities, as well as equipment for maternal and newborn care. Additionally, essential diagnostic tools such as electronic scales and fully automatic hemoglobin analyzers are available.
Through this initiative, the authorities aim to reduce regional disparities in access to medical services and ensure that women across the country receive quality care, regardless of their location.
