Moldova aims to be regional cybersecurity hub; Chișinău hosts 3rd Cybersecurity Forum

The Moldova Cybersecurity Forum, the largest cybersecurity event in the Republic of Moldova, is returning to Chișinău. The third edition of the forum will take place from May 12 to 13, with the theme "Regional Cyber Defense: From Commitment to Action." According to the organizers, the event will focus on transforming strategic partnerships into concrete actions aimed at strengthening digital security and protecting critical infrastructure.
International experts, decision-makers, and industry representatives will gather for a two-day forum to discuss the main challenges and opportunities in cybersecurity, as well as common solutions to enhance digital resilience at the regional level.
The first day of the forum will be dedicated to strategic dialogue, featuring a series of thematic panels. Participants will address topics such as the development of national security frameworks, the roles of authorities and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) in managing cyber incidents, and the importance of collaboration to protect critical infrastructure.
There will be a special emphasis on cybersecurity education, analyzing specialized training programs and the need to develop digital skills.
Another significant agenda item is regional cybersecurity, especially in light of the launch in February of the "Cyber Alliance for Regional Resilience." This initiative was created by the Cyber Security Agency of the Republic of Moldova, the National Cyber Security Coordination Center of Ukraine, and the National Cyber Security Directorate of Romania.
The second day of the event will focus on practical activities. Participants will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in specialized workshops, including a Cyber Range exercise that simulates real cyber defense attacks and scenarios.
Additionally, a guide for implementing security requirements for critical infrastructure providers will be presented.
The Moldova Cybersecurity Forum 2026 is organized by the Cyber Security Agency and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, in collaboration with the National Institute for Cyber Security Innovations "Cybercor."
The event is supported by the Innovate Moldova program, which is funded by Sweden and the United Kingdom, the European Union Partnership Mission to the Republic of Moldova, the National Cyber Security Directorate of Romania, and the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance.
