Flashmob in Chisinau promotes healthy lifestyle

Health, regarded as our most valuable resource, was highlighted on April 7, World Health Day. To commemorate this occasion, medical students teamed up with doctors from the Republican Clinical Hospital "Timofei Moșneaga" to organize a flash mob aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Students gathered to mobilize the community and encourage individuals to pay more attention to their health by adopting beneficial long-term habits.

"Health, for me, means finding a balance between physical, mental, emotional, and psychological well-being. Achieving this balance requires ongoing effort."

"Health means getting proper sleep, eating well, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It's also about doing gentle exercise from time to time."

"Health encompasses everything. Eating nutritious food contributes to overall well-being. It's about taking care of yourself, which includes having a healthy mind, spending time with family, and nurturing relationships with good friends."

Throughout the day, students and doctors distributed fruit and water to patients, emphasizing the importance of daily hydration.

"It's essential to drink water and eat fruit. We also provide a leaflet for you to read and help you take care of yourself."

"This small event, combined with the gifts we provide to everyone who visits our institution—whether for treatment or preventive care—invites all to celebrate health," stated Alexandru Toma, head of the Thoracic Surgery Department.

"We aim to raise awareness about the significance of understanding what health truly means. We often start valuing our health only when we begin to lose it. I tell my patients, 'You may have countless challenges, but as soon as a health issue arises, all those concerns seem to fade away,'" said Iurie Noroc, doctor.

World Health Day has been celebrated annually since 1950, marking the founding of the World Health Organization.
