About 426K passengers flew from Chișinău in March; Sharm el-Sheikh, Paris, Barcelona top destinations

In March of this year, nearly 426,000 passengers travelled on air routes operated from the "Eugen Doga" International Airport in Chisinau. Compared to March of last year, passenger traffic increased by 25.3%, reaching a total of 86,113 passengers.
According to the institution's data, over 3,140 operations (landings and take-offs) were recorded in March, an increase of 10.9% compared to the same period last year. The volume of cargo transported in March reached 232.9 tons.
The route to Sharm el-Sheikh topped the rankings with 10,743 passengers, followed by Paris with 7,454 passengers. Other destinations that recorded high passenger volumes, each exceeding 6,000 passengers, include Barcelona, Bucharest, Yerevan, and Prague.

New destinations added to the flight network attracted a total of 32,178 passengers in March, accounting for approximately 7.6% of the total monthly traffic. Among these, flights to Bratislava and Naples were the most popular, with over 4,550 passengers each.

March 2026 highlights a steady increase in passenger traffic, driven by high demand for both departures and arrivals, as well as the expansion of the route network. This growth indicates improved mobility and better international connectivity. The trend is supported by increased flight frequencies, an expanded portfolio of destinations, the development of foreign tourism, enhanced population mobility, strengthened economic relations, business passenger flows, and expanded collaboration with international airlines, according to the "Eugen Doga" International Airport in Chisinau.
