The US announces a new $400 million military aid package for Ukraine
The United States has announced a new defense support package for Ukraine totaling $400 million, which includes deliveries of missiles, artillery ammunition and armored vehicles, as well as other types of assistance. The information was confirmed in a statement by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, cited by Ukrinform. The funding will also cover equipment maintenance as well as training of Ukrainian units.
From the start of the full-scale war to the end of February 2023, US security, economic, humanitarian and social assistance to Ukraine amounted to about $50 billion, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said.
Ukraine received the latest $2 billion aid package from the US a week ago, marking the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
