Victor Parlicov: The Transnistrian region will not pay a penny for the gas that is delivered to the left of the Dniester

The Transnistrian region will not pay anything, not a penny for the gas that is delivered to the left of the Dniester, said energy expert Victor Parlicov in the show "At 360 degrees" from Radio Moldova.

According to the expert, this practice has been going on for 30 years and the fact that today Transnistrians do not pay for natural gas should not surprise anyone.

"Of course, they will not pay, they have never paid, why did the world get agitated in December 2022, while we have been doing this for 30 years. Since 1994, gas has been going to the Transnistrian region, but since 2005, not a single "kopeck" was paid from the left of the Dniester, free gas was sent to the left of the Dniester and electricity was taken at sometimes better, sometimes worse prices. MoldovaGaz still has related debts to Gazprom, about eight billion - these debts have become unsecured debts", declared Victor Parlicov.

Currently, the Transnistrian region's natural gas debt to Gazprom is around nine billion US dollars.

During the same show, Victor Parlicov also stated that from the first of January, the Russian concern Gazprom could stop natural gas deliveries to the Republic of Moldova. Under these conditions, our country will once again purchase electricity from the European market.
