National digital competency exams open for 9th and 12th grade students

The Ministry of Education and Research, alongside the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation, has launched the second phase of the national digital skills assessment.
Final-year students in the 9th and 12th grades can now register to earn official certification for their digital fluency. This optional credential is designed to boost academic progression and workforce competitiveness.
Strategic integration and registration
The assessment utilizes the md.brio.ro platform, ensuring a secure and confidential environment for all participants. Students can access the system via computers, laptops, or tablets to complete their evaluation.
Online registration remains open until April 30, 2026. Interested candidates must complete the digital application to secure their spot in the upcoming national session.
Assessment logistics and impact
The examination is scheduled for May 25, 2026, and will be conducted at specialized testing centers managed by local educational authorities across the country.
Education officials emphasize that digital certification is becoming an essential requirement for modern careers. This initiative aligns local talent with international professional standards.
Proven track record
The program’s first phase saw significant engagement, with approximately 3,200 students participating nationwide. This included 2,200 students from lower secondary and 1,000 from upper secondary levels.
The previous session was successfully implemented across 74 educational institutions, covering every administrative region and municipality in the Republic of Moldova.
