Moldova bids farewell to Gheorghe Urschi at St. Theodora of Sihla Church

The Republic of Moldova bids farewell to master Gheorghe Urschi. The vigil service for the esteemed artist is being held at the "Saint Teodora de la Sihla" Church.

One by one, people who appreciated the artist Gheorghe Urschi come to pay their last respects.

The funeral ceremonies will continue on Wednesday morning at the "Saint Teodora de la Sihla" Church. Starting at 09:00, there will be a divine service followed by a memorial service.

At approximately 09:50, the funeral cortege will proceed to the "Nicolae Sulac" National Palace. There, from 10:00 to 13:00, an official farewell ceremony will be held, allowing colleagues, cultural figures, and citizens to pay their last respects to the departed.

The program will include a mourning rally featuring speeches from several notable personalities, including the President of the country, Maia Sandu. This will be followed by the farewell procession.

At 13:00, the funeral cortege will depart for the "Armenesc" Central Cemetery, where the funeral ceremony will begin at 14:00.

In honor of the occasion, April 15 has been declared a national day of mourning. Flags will be flown at half-mast, and citizens are encouraged to observe a moment of silence in memory of a man who brought joy to generations of Moldovans.
