Embassy of Romania in Chisinau: New MAE service for Romania ties is a “natural, welcome step”

The Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Moldova welcomes the Government of Chisinau's decision to create, within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), a service dedicated to relations with Romania. The Embassy qualifies this initiative as "a natural and welcome step in consolidating the strategic cooperation between both countries".
According to the diplomatic mission, this initiative reflects the maturity and depth of the bilateral partnership and emphasizes the need for more efficient coordination amid intensified political dialogue, expanded sectoral cooperation, and the advancement of the Republic of Moldova's European path.
The establishment of a dedicated mechanism for relations with Romania underscores the importance Chisinau places on this valuable partnership.
"Romania remains a firm supporter of the Republic of Moldova's modernization and reform efforts, and strengthening the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is essential for achieving our common objectives, particularly in the European integration process. We are confident that this new service will enable even more effective cooperation, focused on tangible results for the benefit of citizens on both sides of the Prut", reports the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau in a post on its Facebook page.
The initiative to create a special service for relations with Romania and another for economic diplomacy was approved at the Government meeting on April 15.
Additionally, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to establish military attaché positions at several embassies and to increase the number of advisors responsible for coordinating relations with the diaspora.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) team will expand by 35 employees, and seven advisors focused on coordinating relations with the diaspora and managing development assistance in the European integration process will be appointed to Moldova's diplomatic missions.
