Parliament Speaker visits Austria for several meetings

The Speaker of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, is on an official visit to Austria from April 19 to 21, at the invitation of the President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria, Walter Rosenkrantz.

In Vienna, the Parliament Speaker will meet with the leadership of the Austrian Parliament, including the presidents of the two chambers, Walter Rosenkrantz and Markus Stotter, as well as members of the Austria-Republic of Moldova Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The discussions will focus on strengthening Moldovan-Austrian relations, deepening parliamentary dialogue, and Austria's support for the Republic of Moldova's European path.

Additionally, on Sunday, April 19, Igor Grosu will meet with Moldovan citizens residing in Austria at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Vienna.

The visit program also includes trips to various locations, such as the Agricultural Vocational School in Krems, and discussions with the leadership of IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences.

We remind you that in August 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger, paid an official visit to Chișinău. Her agenda in Moldova included meetings with President Maia Sandu, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov. The Minister reaffirmed Austria's political and economic support for Chișinău's European path.

We remind you that official diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on March 25, 1992.
