Over 7 million lei invested to rehabilitate Cioc-Maidan’s Culture House

Residents of the village of Cioc-Maidan in southern Moldova will soon enjoy a modernized House of Culture, thanks to two projects financed under the National Program "European Village," editions I and II. The state budget has allocated over 7 million lei for these investments, and the work is more than 70 percent complete.

The National Office for Regional and Local Development (ONDRL) reports that the Culture House, one of the most significant institutions in the area, is undergoing renovations in phases. In the first stage of the program, crucial work was completed, including a full roof replacement. Currently, the focus is on modernizing the building.

Ongoing renovations include thermal insulation of the concert hall attic, installation of an energy-efficient lighting system, consolidation of parts of the building, reconstruction of the access stairs, installation of a ramp for individuals with reduced mobility, and cladding of the surfaces with terracotta.

The new conditions will benefit both the employees of the Culture House and the public library, which share the same premises, as well as members of local artistic groups. These groups include a vocal studio with 18 children, the dance ensemble "Bucaan Uşakları," with approximately 30 members, and various interest circles for individuals of all ages.

Oleg Constandoglo, the mayor of Cioc-Maidan village, emphasized the significance of this investment for the community.

"The Culture House is a true center of community life, a space where generations come together, traditions are preserved, and essential activities for the cultural and social development of the village take place."

The mayor expressed gratitude to the institutions involved in the project’s implementation and shared hopes for the upcoming launch of a new edition of the program.

"We appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in these projects, as they represent a significant investment in the development of our community, the youth, and the preservation of cultural heritage. I would like to thank the Government, the MIDR team, and ONDRL specialists. We eagerly await the launch of a new edition of the 'European Village' Program, which will help further develop our locality and improve living conditions for our over 3,000 residents, including approximately 500 children," declared the mayor.

The second edition of the "European Village" Program aims to rehabilitate 78 cultural centers throughout the country, of which 43 have already been renovated. As a result of these investments, approximately 100,000 residents are benefiting from improved conditions, including 2,140 members of artistic collectives nationwide.
