Evacuations after drone strikes roof
Residents of a Chișinău apartment building were temporarily evacuated overnight after a drone-like object crashed into their roof.
The incident occurred around 1:00 AM on Sprâncenoaia Street in the Telecentru district. Teleradio-Moldova confirmed this is the same block where a recent explosion destroyed an apartment and left its owner hospitalized with severe burns.
The General Police Inspectorate stated that a resident alerted the authorities. Police officers and the bomb squad immediately intervened to secure the perimeter.
The object, damaged upon impact with the roof, was safely removed for detailed forensic analysis. All residents were allowed to return to their apartments once the site inspection concluded.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police remind citizens not to touch suspicious objects and to immediately call emergency services at 112.
