Fake Telegram channel impersonates PAS deputy; citizens urged to stay vigilant

A fraudulent Telegram channel is misusing MP Radu Marian's name to promote fake investments. The MP warns that these messages come from scammers attempting to mislead users and gain illicit profits.
"Scammers work on May 1st! Please remain vigilant and do not fall victim to these schemes, as you could lose significant amounts of money," warned the deputy.
Radu Marian announced that he would notify both the Telegram platform administration and law enforcement agencies to help identify and sanction those involved.
He also urged users to report the channel to help limit the spread of fraudulent activities.
We remind you that fraud, particularly telephone and online scams, has been on the rise recently. According to data from the National Single Emergency Call Service 112, there were 385 reports of attempted scams from citizens between April 27 and April 29. Scammers frequently use scenarios such as accidents, suspicious transactions, or fictitious prizes to create panic and trick victims into transferring money or disclosing sensitive information. Authorities recommend exercising caution and verifying information before making any financial decisions.
