Government approves: National minorities and refugees from Ukraine will be able to learn the Romanian language

Representatives of national minorities will benefit from new opportunities to learn the Romanian language. The government has approved a national program that aims to train both students and adults, including refugees from Ukraine, says the Minister of Education and Research, Anatolie Topală.

"The program also includes other new elements such as the implementation of education in many languages, which involves the teaching of non-linguistic subjects in Romanian and in the mother tongue. Through the approved program, around 6,000 teaching and management staff will be trained to know the Romanian language, another 13,000 adults from various professional categories, including adult refugees from Ukraine, will learn the Romanian language ". Also, about 4,000 students, including refugee children from Ukraine, enrolled in educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova, will participate in various educational programs in the Romanian language"*, declared the Minister of Education and Research. Anatolie Topală said that for the implementation of the program in the next three years, financial means in the amount of 30 million lei are provided, and some expenses will also be covered from external sources.
