Soroca hosts European Town event for all generations on May 16

The European Town will move to the Soroca municipality on May 16, following the success of May 9 in Chisinau. Visitors will celebrate Europe Day through interactive activities in thematic pavilions and a grand concert.
The European Town will open its doors at 2:00 PM and will feature the Pavilion of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the Republic of Moldova. This pavilion has been set up in collaboration with the European Parliament Office, Europe Café, and the Young European Ambassadors.
In addition, 14 embassies of EU member states have prepared activities for children, competitions for visitors of all ages, and a selection of traditional dishes, dances, and songs representative of their respective countries.
At the Energy Resilience Pavilion, guests will learn how the European Union’s support has strengthened the Republic of Moldova’s energy security. The focus will be on reducing dependencies, diversifying energy sources, promoting energy efficiency, and assisting vulnerable households in challenging times.
Thirteen projects funded by the European Union will also be showcased, covering areas such as education, environmental protection, entrepreneurship, social inclusion, energy efficiency, digitalization, and the resilience of local communities.
Additionally, residents and visitors are invited to explore the State Chancellery Pavilion, the Soroca City Hall Pavilion, and the Public Debate Area. Writer Ionela Hadârcă will engage with attendees and offer copies of her book, The Price of a Smile.
Participants will have the opportunity to discover inspiring life stories and interact with the Fathers' Club.
The evening will conclude with an exceptional concert starting at 7:00 PM, featuring performances by Gabriel Nebunu, the band Akord, and Carla’s Dreams.
We remind you that the European Town was inaugurated on May 9 in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau.
Under the slogan “Europe is YOU!,” this event celebrated the 20th anniversary of Europe Day in the Republic of Moldova and marked 76 years since the historic Schuman Declaration.
