Romania and Japan will cooperate in providing assistance to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova
Japan and Romania will cooperate in providing assistance to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to deal with the crises caused by the war started by the Russian Federation in the neighboring country. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida discussed about it in Tokyo.

"Also, it was agreed that Japan and Romania will cooperate in providing assistance to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. Japan has offered over 13 million US dollars to support Ukrainian refugees settled in Romania," said the Japanese Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, stated that the security of Europe and that of the Indo-Pacific should not be discussed separately in the context in which the international security environment is becoming more and more severe.
For his part, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said that Romania and Japan will cooperate to ensure security, in response to Russia's aggression in Ukraine. "We welcome the support that Japan gives both to Ukraine and to the Republic of Moldova. We will continue our close cooperation, both in terms of EU-Japan and NATO-Japan relations," Iohannis said.
Japan, which is one of the most important development partners of the Republic of Moldova, announced 2 weeks ago about a new budget support worth 100 million US dollars.
