Authorities spray over 100 hectares of forest with pesticides
The "Moldsilva" agency continuously monitors forest conditions and intervenes when necessary to prevent pest outbreaks and protect the forest ecosystem. Based on silvopathological research conducted in the summer and autumn of 2025, as well as monitoring done in the spring of this year, specialists implemented pest control measures using aerial treatments.
The intervention covered 104 hectares and was conducted using drones. This measure was necessary to protect mature oak trees that were affected by harmful insects, including the green oak moth, the brown oak borer, and the acorn borer.
Phytosanitary treatment was applied in the forest districts of Strășeni, Căpriana, and Scoreni.
Throughout the process, safety regulations were followed, and local public authorities were kept informed and involved in the collaborative efforts.
