Russians launched new "massive" attacks in Ukraine. Explosions have been reported from Odessa and Kharkiv, and the Zaporozhye power plant disconnected from the grid
Alarms rang out across Ukraine this morning. Russia has been attacking massively since last night. Explosions have been reported from Odessa and Kharkiv to Kiev and into western Ukraine. Odessa's governor says power infrastructure has been hit, areas of the city have been left without power and residential buildings have been damaged.

Also, according to the mayor of Kiev, an explosion in western Kiev killed two civilians. Forty percent of the capital's residents are without electricity and heating following the bombing in recent hours, Mayor Vitali Klychko announced Thursday morning. At the same time, the head of the regional military administration in Lvov announced on Telegram that four people had died as a result of Russian rocket attacks on the city.
Attacks have again disconnected the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, from the electricity grid. In August, when this happened before, it took two weeks to reconnect.
"Ukraine's defence forces have destroyed 34 cruise missiles, as well as 4 unmanned aerial vehicles "Shahed-136/131", the Ukrainian military said in a statement on Telegram on Thursday, The Guardian reports.
The statement reads that 48 Kalibr-type cruise missiles were launched by Russia. "The launches were carried out from ten Tu-95 strategic aircraft, seven Tu-22M3 long-range aircraft, eight Su-35 fighter jets, six MiG-. 31K aircraft and three Kalibr KR aircraft carriers in the Black Sea," say Ukrainian authorities, who claim that in total Russia launched 81 missiles of various types over Ukraine.
