Businesses honored at Moldovan Business Gala 2026 amid economic shifts

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Republic of Moldova has staged the Moldovan Business Gala 2026 at Castel Mimi. The high-profile event brought together over 300 business leaders, public officials, and foreign diplomats to recognize outstanding corporate performance.

A record total of 593 companies submitted applications across the competitive categories this year. The annual ceremony distributed awards highlighting achievements in corporate competitiveness, dual education integration, social entrepreneurship, and the prestigious Trademark of the Year.

Despite complex international market fluctuations, production challenges like droughts, and regional geopolitical uncertainty, Moldovan enterprises demonstrated strong structural adaptation. The platform underscores the private sector's continuous trajectory toward standardizing operations for European market access.

Voice of the entrepreneurs

We face a lot of confectionery importers, competition, but we strive to win through quality and in this way, to maintain ourselves on the market," stated Ecaterina Cechină, director of a local sweets factory. "The Moldovan Business Gala takes place once a year and it is an occasion to see our colleagues again, to see the success of each one, and of course to promote our products.

Maintaining compliance and leveraging specialized operational expertise remain critical factors for local industry leaders.

Since 2015, we have been repeatedly nominated in the 'Goddess of Quality' category, a recognition of the quality of the products we make, noted Aureliu Leancă, administrator of a meat processing company. I am the only doctor in the republic who processes meat.

Academic integration and policy frameworks

The corporate push for quality alignment has increasingly integrated with the national higher education network through modern professional training programs.

For Moldova State University, this award—the 'Quality in Services Award'—is very important, declared Otilia Dandara, rector of the institution. I believe that a university cannot be an authentic academic environment if it does not offer quality services.

Government officials reiterated their strategic commitment to backing private industries and fostering sustainable domestic export growth.

When we invest in local products, in local companies, then we can promote them on the external market, stated Sergiu Harea, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. And when you have quality, you are also in demand in the European Union and beyond.

The basic message is quite simple. We must promote the producers of the Republic of Moldova, concluded the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Eugeniu Osmochescu. Those of us in public authorities have a straightforward yet complex task to create conditions for economic growth.
