The European Parliament may adopt a resolution on the situation in Moldova
MEP Siegfried Mureșan told the European Parliament that a debate on the situation in the Republic of Moldova and the challenges that the authorities in Chisinau have to deal with during this period will take place at next week's plenary session.
The official added that the debate would be accompanied by a resolution, which would most likely be adopted at the April plenary session.
"Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine a year ago, we have been saying that the Republic of Moldova is just as important as Ukraine for the security of Romania and the European Union (EU). Therefore, we have to get involved so that the EU can help the Republic of Moldova as much as possible to overcome the current challenges, to take new measures for the benefit of the people and to be ready for the start of negotiations for accession to the European Union", said Siegfried Muresan.
