Joe Biden ignores Beijing's vehement criticism
On Thursday, US President Joe Biden reacted laconically to recent unusually strong criticism from Chinese leaders over US policy towards Beijing, reports Agerpres.
When asked how he reacted to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping's very direct remarks, the US president simply replied "not much".
On Monday, the Chinese leader, according to a report by the Xinhua news agency, issued a rare direct criticism of the United States, nominally blaming it for engaging Western countries in a "policy of isolation, encirclement and repression against China".
On Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said that "if the United States does not put the brakes on but continues to accelerate down the wrong path, no amount of safeguards will prevent the derailing" of relations between Beijing and Washington.
If that happens, "there will inevitably be conflict and confrontation," Qin Gang told a news conference.
