Chisinau allocates €1.27m for schools and clinics in Security Zone

The Moldovan Government approved the financing of 30 development projects for communities within the Security Zone on Wednesday, June 3. These initiatives are part of the 2026 Country Reintegration Activity Program, aimed at supporting local infrastructure and social cohesion.
Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, announced that the 30 community-interest projects will receive total funding of €1.27 million (approx. 25 million MDL). The selection was finalized by a government commission and ratified during the Executive's latest session.
“The projects will be implemented in the localities of the Security Zone. Additionally, financial means will be allocated to the Dubăsari District Council for the partial compensation of expenses incurred by the owners and holders of agricultural lands located behind the Râbnița–Tiraspol highway,” stated the Vice Prime Minister.
Focus on education and health
A significant portion of the funding is dedicated to improving Romanian-language educational institutions. The Lucian Blaga Theoretical Lyceum in Tiraspol will receive a renovated roof and two new school buses.
In Molovata, the Ștefan cel Mare Gymnasium will see its canteen refurbished, while Kindergarten No. 5 in Rezina is set to modernize its sanitary facilities. These investments aim to provide stable conditions for students living in sensitive administrative areas.
Social and medical infrastructure remains a priority. The government will fund a new heating system for the Placement Center for the Elderly and People with Disabilities in Cocieri. Furthermore, the Family Doctor’s Office in Doroțcaia will undergo repairs, and the Rezina Health Center will be equipped with modern medical devices.
Since the program’s inception, the Moldovan authorities have consistently increased their presence in the region through such initiatives. Between 2011 and 2025, the government financed over 600 projects across 15 reintegration cycles, with a cumulative value reaching nearly 220 million MDL.
