Innovation and creativity at Chișinău Maker Faire 2026

The Chisinau Maker Faire, a festival celebrating technology and creativity, is scheduled for June 13 in Chisinau. Now in its sixth year, the event is part of the international Maker Faire network, a global phenomenon spanning more than 40 countries and promoting collaboration across technology, science, art, and education.

The organizers of this year's event announced that it will feature a variety of workshops for visitors, along with interactive installations, games, and activities that encourage direct interactions with inventors, creators, and engineers.

The goal of the event is to inspire young people to explore, discover, and apply innovative technologies and ideas.

Cristina Onicov-Beșelea, the coordinator of the Young Makers Club at ATIC, shared on the show "Bună Dimineața" on Moldova 1 TV that the practical workshops are designed for different age groups, including children as young as three years old. They will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as building toy rockets from recyclable materials.

Engaging young people in these activities can help them identify areas of interest and develop their skills in fields they are passionate about.

“You can explore various areas such as electronics, laser printing and cutting, drones, robotics, and more. I believe this is an extraordinary opportunity, and every teenager deserves such guidance. Additionally, makers who are already working on different projects can come to the festival to present their work and interact with others,” stated Iulian Lungu, another coordinator of the Young Makers Club at ATIC, during the same show.

In previous editions, participants have created numerous inventions, including a waste sorting device. Organizers have also observed a significant increase in projects related to 3D modeling and printing.

Admission to the festival is free, and the first thousand visitors will receive ice cream. Attendees will also have the chance to enter raffles for prizes, including starter kits in electronics and other technical fields.
