Maia Sandu congratulates CNA on 24th anniversary

The National Anticorruption Center (CNA) is marking 24 years of activity. President Maia Sandu attended the anniversary event on June 5 and praised the institution’s employees for their contribution to strengthening the rule of law, combating corruption, and safeguarding democracy in the Republic of Moldova.

In her speech, President Maia Sandu thanked the CNA team for its work during a period marked by unprecedented challenges for the Republic of Moldova, including attempts to influence elections through corruption, illegal political financing, and attacks on democratic processes.

“The CNA has been on the front line of efforts to dismantle the networks behind these criminal activities,” the president stressed.

Maia Sandu expressed confidence in the professionalism of CNA employees and the institution’s ability to continue protecting democracy.

“The Republic of Moldova is stronger today than it was a few years ago. More resilient. More determined to defend its democracy and pursue its European path. I have confidence in the professionalism and dedication of those who serve in this institution. The Republic of Moldova continues to rely on you”, the president concluded.

CNA Director Alexandr Pînzari stressed that every achievement reflects the efforts of a dedicated team that understands the importance of fighting corruption and its responsibility to society and the future of the Republic of Moldova.

“Today we mark 24 years since the creation of the National Anticorruption Center. Twenty four years of work, responsibility, and commitment in service to citizens and the state. Above all, this anniversary honors the people behind the institution. It recognizes generations of officers and employees who have carried out their duties with professionalism, integrity, and courage, regardless of the challenges,” said Alexandr Pînzari.

The State Tax Service also joined the congratulatory messages, praising the professionalism, integrity, and responsibility demonstrated by officers in carrying out their mission to prevent and combat corruption.

“Your work significantly strengthens public trust in state institutions, and the integrity that defines the National Anticorruption Center serves as an important benchmark for promoting legality, transparency, and honesty,” said Olga Golban, Director of the State Tax Service.

The National Anticorruption Center has been the legal successor to the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (CCCEC), established in 2002, since October 1, 2012.
