Moldova represented at Bharat Buildcon 2026 in India by 49 construction companies

Forty-nine companies from the Republic of Moldova are participating in Bharat Buildcon 2026, a major international exhibition dedicated to the construction industry in India, which was inaugurated in New Delhi on June 18.
The Moldovan delegation's participation was organized by the Euroasia Businessmen Association in partnership with the Embassy of India in Bucharest, which also oversees relations with the Republic of Moldova.
Boris Foca, the president of the association, said that this is the first significant economic mission organized in India for Moldovan companies.
"We are in India for the first time, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Bucharest. They proposed that we organize an economic mission at the largest exhibition, Bharat Buildcon, held in New Delhi," Boris Foca stated in an interview with journalist Anatol Caciuc.
Moldova's participation in this event is part of efforts to strengthen trade relations between India and the European Union.
"In order to enhance trade between the EU and India, we were invited to be partners. We are present at the exhibition, and our mission is to bring together companies interested in the Indian market," Foca explained.
He highlighted that India is strengthening its position in the international exhibition market and aims to become an attractive alternative for companies that have traditionally focused on China.
"India is trying to compete with China at the exhibition level. It is working to become more appealing. Ultimately, it will depend on the preferences of the final client," Foca noted.
He also shared that trade relations between the Republic of Moldova and India are more developed than is commonly acknowledged.
"I was pleasantly surprised to learn that last year alone, 200 containers of pipes were imported from India to the Ungheni region. I did not realize that Moldova had substantial imports," the association president mentioned.
The participating companies were selected through a pre-selection process, with prior experience in import activities as one of the primary criteria.
"They are companies from the construction materials sector. One of the acceptance criteria was having a minimum level of import experience and the ability to demonstrate it through commercial documents," he explained.
According to the organizers, the main goal of the economic mission is to identify new suppliers, establish partnerships, and sign trade agreements that will enhance the business environment in the Republic of Moldova.
"Our aim is to help create a regional hub in the Republic of Moldova and to draw attention to our region," declared Boris Foca.
He expressed hope that participation in the exhibition will lead to long-term collaborations between Moldovan and Indian companies.
"This exhibition is vast, covering about 800,000 square meters. The level of the event is very high, and consequently, the stakes are significant. We hope that our companies will find partners and establish enduring business relationships," said the president of the Euroasia Association.
The association announced that it will continue to support participating companies in identifying and facilitating partnerships within the Indian business environment.
