Coșnița voters head to polls on June 21 for a local referendum

On June 21, voters in the commune of Coșnita, located in the Dubăsari district, will participate in a local referendum. The community will decide whether land outside the village can be used to exploit mineral resources.

The Coșnița Communal Council has proposed the following question for a local referendum vote: "Do you support the prohibition of changing the use of land within the administrative boundaries of the Coșnița commune for the purpose of exploiting mineral resources at a distance of less than 1.2 km from the borders of the built-up areas of the villages of Coșnița and Pohrebea?" The available response options are: "YES" and "NO."

The Central Electoral Commission has printed a total of 5,158 ballots for this local referendum in Coșnița, including 4,708 ballots in Romanian and 450 ballots in Russian.

Individuals who, due to health issues or other valid reasons, are unable to go to the polling station to submit their application in person may do so through a family member, social worker, or community social worker. The voter requesting to vote at their place of residence must complete the application personally, attach a copy of their identity document, and, if applicable, provide supporting documentation (such as a medical certificate).

Requests for voting at home may be signed electronically and submitted to the official email address of the electoral body.

On election day, the president of the electoral bureau at the polling station will designate at least two members of the bureau to travel with a mobile ballot box and the necessary voting materials to the voter's location, allowing them to vote.
