Cantemir’s old bridge will be replaced with a modern steel structure

The bridge in Vișniovca, Cantemir district, will be demolished and reconstructed. The National Roads Administration (AND) has initiated the public procurement process to replace it with a modern arch-type bridge, featuring a metal structure made of corrugated steel.

The reinforced concrete structure, built between 1971 and 1973, is now in unsatisfactory condition due to expert reports identifying deterioration that affects its durability and load-bearing capacity.

The new bridge will be approximately 30 meters long and 9 meters wide. It will feature two traffic lanes with a combined width of 7 meters, along with safety lanes and sidewalks on both sides, protected by safety railings.

To ensure traffic flow during construction, the project includes creating a 240-meter-long gravel bypass and repairing the 280-meter access road to the bridge.

Bids for the project can be submitted until July 9.

The institution reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring transparency and fairness in all procurement processes.

The estimated value of the contract is 19.8 million lei, with funds allocated from the Road Fund.
