Igor Grosu in Czech Republic: Czech support for Moldova’s EU path reaffirmed

The Czech Republic's support for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova and the progress made in the reform process were addressed during meetings the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, held in the Czech Republic with high-ranking Czech officials.
Igor Grosu began his official visit to the Czech Republic in Telč, a city of special significance to the President of the Czech Senate, Miloš Vystrčil. This location holds personal meaning for Vystrčil, as it is where he started his political career as mayor.
During their meeting, Grosu discussed the Republic of Moldova’s European integration and the reforms being implemented domestically, particularly in local public administration. He stated, “European integration means, above all, changes that are visible and impactful in every community.”
Grosu also spoke with the Mayor of Telč, Vladimir Brtnik, about local development and how authorities can improve conditions for residents.
He noted, “In Telč, we can see how caring for heritage, public spaces, and quality of life can transform a locality into an attractive place for residents and visitors alike. We have much to learn from our Czech friends, and I am pleased to witness their genuine support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova,” concluded the President of the Parliament.
Igor Grosu will be making an official visit to the Czech Republic from June 22 to 23, at the invitation of the President of the Czech Senate, Miloš Vystrčil.
The agenda for this trip includes meetings with high-ranking officials in Prague, discussions to deepen bilateral relations and interparliamentary cooperation, and topics related to supporting the Republic of Moldova in its European integration process.
Grosu is also scheduled to meet with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, Tomio Okamura.
Additionally, the visit program includes a meeting with members of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group, during which they will explore opportunities to enhance cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
The President of the Parliament will also hold meetings at the Government of the Czech Republic with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Jaromír Zůna.
Finally, the agenda features a cultural event: Igor Grosu will take part in the presentation of the film "Landmarks of Moldova," directed by Czech filmmaker Petr Voldán. This film is dedicated to showcasing the Republic of Moldova and promoting its image abroad, according to the source.
