Moldova completes crop damage relief applications

Moldova has concluded the application phase for financial aid aimed at compensating crop losses caused by the 2025 drought. The Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) received 345 requests from affected farmers.
The total aid package of €2.55 million (approx. 50 million MDL) is sourced from the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development. Funds will be distributed based on a technical formula accounting for affected surface area and government-approved coefficients.
Căușeni leads the request volume with 213 applications, followed by Cahul, Gagauzia, and Chișinău. AIPA is now conducting rigorous assessments of all submissions to finalize individual compensation amounts.
Beneficiaries will receive formal notifications regarding their evaluation status and the exact value of the disbursed support. This initiative represents a strategic shift toward data-driven climate risk management in the Moldovan agricultural sector.
